The Satpura Tiger Reserve, created in 2000 by merging three forests, extends over 2133 square kilometers and is a paradise for nature photographers. It is home to around 50 tigers and an extraordinary biodiversity with over 50 mammal species, more than 300 bird species and many reptiles and butterflies.

Two weeks of nature photography on Kandima Island: between white beaches, mangrove forests and colorful reefs, I discover the quiet, wild side of the Maldives. From flying foxes to sea turtles – every encounter is an unforgettable photographic moment.

Early morning at the lake – the world is still in twilight. Two small silhouettes glide silently over the water: black-necked grebes with their chicks on their backs. An intimate insight into the life of these fascinating birds, wonderful for bird photographers and nature lovers.

The blue nudibranch and the green earthworm are among the most colorful, but mostly overlooked inhabitants of our forests. For nature photographers, it is worth looking down – because often the special things are hidden exactly where no one is looking.

When I walk through the woods with my daughter, I often rediscover nature through her curious eyes. Nature photography is a wonderful way to get children excited about nature, to teach them patience and to sharpen their eye for the small wonders of nature.
