As a nature photographer, I have already explored many fascinating places, but documenting the green side of my adopted home of Munich was a very special experience. Together with my colleagues Niklas Banowski, Christopher Meyer and Ingo Zahlheimer, I set off in search of Munich's hidden natural treasures. This trip showed us that our city has much more to offer than just concrete and asphalt.
In the “Wild Munich” exhibition at the Museum Mensch und Natur, we take you on a journey of discovery through the natural wonders of the city. Our photographs show the diverse habitats and amazing biodiversity that can be found in the heart of Munich. From majestic birds of prey to shy city foxes - our images capture the magic and beauty of urban wildlife.
However, the exhibition goes beyond the mere presentation of photos. It also presents inspiring projects and initiatives that are committed to preserving and promoting nature in the city. We would like to encourage visitors to become active themselves and implement their own nature conservation projects. We therefore invite you to submit your projects by August 31, 2024. The most interesting submissions will not only be presented in the museum, but also shared on our social media channels. Projects with the most likes will win great prizes, including an exclusive guided tour with a museum educator.
